So, what up?
Update [8/22]: Dannie from ReclinerGM now has the audio up. Check it out.
It's been a very interesting day to say the least. If you would've told me three months ago, when I started this blog, that along with a handful of other Sixer bloggers I'd be in a conference call with Ed Stefanski, I would've told you that you've lost your mind. After the call I asked myself, "Did that just happen?" It sure did and there's proof.
A couple of days ago Sixers PR guy, Michael Preston contacted a few of us via e-mail and asked us if we would be available for a brief conference call with Eddy, which consisted of an opening statement from THE MAN himself and then a quick Q and A session. Unfortunately, the scheduled time was during my work hours, but I could not turn this opportunity down. So, I toughed it out and used my lunch break for the call. I had some massive forklifts running behind me and a ton of distractions, including my boss giving me dirty looks, so I didn't have an opportunity to write anything down, but thankfully there's plenty of coverage around the web.
Shout out to all the people who were involved (If I miss anyone I apologize):
-Depressed Fan
-RealGM
-The700level
-ReclinerGM
-Henry Abbott from TrueHoop
-Yahoo! Sports
-Michael Preston (Public Relations)
-Passion and Pride
-And the most important man of all, Sixers' GM, Ed Stefanski
Special Thanks to Ed for participating and Mike for setting it all up.
Like, I said, thank God for the other blogger's coverage, since I was unable to write anything down. Dannie from ReclinerGM should have a podcast up later this evening, so you'll be able to listen for yourself (I can't wait to here how sexy I sound on a podcast since I listen to Bill Simmons all the time and dream of being on one). Anyway, I'm sure no one wants to hear anymore about MY story, so here's the coverage around the web:
The Sixers are Fantastic-TrueHoop

Exclusive Conference Call With Ed Stefanski-ReclinerGM (Podcast will probably come later)
Here were some of the main points (from memory):
-Iguodala is most likely penciled in at the two-guard.
-Thad has improved his handle.
-If Thad's development is stalled, Willie will see more playing time (Yikes).
-Brand might play center once in a while.
-The Brand signing lured in free agents that "normally wouldn't have signed".
-Lou and Iguodala aren't "stone cold" one, twos or threes, they are just "ball players".
-Andre Miller doesn't have an agent.
-Miller takes summers off and when he means off, he means off.
-Likes Speights and will probably get more time since Jason Smith is hurt.
-Smith injury prompted the signing of Theo.
-Theo lovess Philly and has the fans "figured out".
-Any offer to Josh Smith was thought to be matched.
-"Look good on paper, but paper don't play".
-Not abandoning the running style.
Favorite quote/conversation:
"This is Brian from Depressed Fan."
"What was that?"
"Brian from Depressed Fan."
"Aww, come on man you got to cheer up!"
"It's the Yankees."
I thought it was hilarious. Anyway, it was a blast and look for the podcast later on ReclinerGM.

Hey Jordan, I've been stopping by your blog daily since I discovered it during the Vegas Summer League this year. You've got a great Sixer blog and you deserved to be in on the *Ed and Bloggers* conference call. Kudos to you Jordan. Wow, who knew Ed was going to be this fan friendly? Looked around last night for the actual audio but so far I don't think anyone has it uploaded.
I like the new look you gave the blog a couple of weeks ago. Except for the *heads only* pictures at the top of the page. No big deal but since you had asked for feedback...
Jordan,
Kudos to you for getting in on this with a relatively short history blogging on Sixersoul. It's a credit to the work you've been doing. Also, thanks for the question on Willie. He's definitely the odd man out here.
My main thing taken from the call is Ed's pretty on paper routine. Time will tell and I'm saying 53 wins this year. You?
Dion:
Thanks for the support man. ReclinerGM has the audio up now if you want to check it out.
Jon:
Thank you sir. I was afraid our call was going to go without a Willie Green question and I couldn't let that happen.
53 is pretty reasonable. When I broke down the schedule I got 52, so we're in the same ballpark.
What a great opportunity.
Congratulations!
